Suriya is a Prince among men

The buzz surrounding AR Murugadoss's 7aum Arivu continues to mount. The Buddhist monk character portrayed by Suriya is especially interest worthy. Apparently this character is originally a Pallava prince named Bodhivarma. The Prince like Buddha himself renounces his Kingdom, becomes a monk and goes to China to spread the word about Buddhism.

The existence of this Prince has been recorded in history, but Murugadoss has given a fictionalized account of his life that is based on some true facts. It sounds fascinating for sure. Shruti Haasan is a scientist in the film. The film will alternate between the past and the present during the course of the narrative

Venkat Prabhu to Direct Suriya and Karthi?

Venkat Prabhu is the holiday director who enjoys his shooting like a holiday. Finally, he churns out a film that becomes a decent hit. The unit helmed by Venkat Prabhu is the party lot that parties a lot and a recent controversy had surged much to their annoyance.
The controversy was brought to an end quite amicably. Although Mankatha became a hit, the opening was grand and now, the attention has shifted to 7aum Arivu and Velayutham from Mankatha. Despite the hit, the controversay did damage Venkat Prabhu’s reputation to some extent.
The party guys of Tamil cinema will be seen in yet another film which will be directed by Venkat Prabhu as always. This time, he will do so with either Karthi or Suriya in the lead roles. Producer Gnanavel Raja might produce the film as usual.
Venkat Prabhu suggested of late that either Suriya or Karthi will make it a normal film. The market can be huge if both of them come together for a film and it will attract the audience to see the brothers in the same film. Producer Gnanavel Raja seems to be keenly considering the idea and the announcement will soon be made regarding such a film, say sources.

'Maatraan's Russia schedule

Actors literally have to live out of their bag most of the time. And if the project involves a mega budget and a task master for a director then things might get even better. Suriya after the successful audio release of his upcoming film '7aum Arivu,' has packed off to Russia to shoot for KV Anand's 'Maatraan.' The shooting from Russia which will begin tomorrow will go on for 25 days.

Some tough stunt sequences will be shot from Russia, reveal insiders. With KV Anand getting us to enjoy some breathtaking locales in his previous films, the fans of the director can sure look forward to some spell binding locales in his 'Maatraan' too.

'Maatraan' sees Kajal Agarwal opposite Suriya, with Sachin Khedekar roped in to play Suriya's villain. After 'Ayan's success and with his next film 'Ko' smashing the box office records, a lot is being expected from KV Anand's next which happens to be 'Maatraan.'

Harris Jayaraj is composing the music for this film. All his previous associations with KV Anand as well as with Suriya have resulted in chartbusters, and this time too the music director is leaving no stones unturned.

'Maatraan' is surging forward with at a good pace and is all set to hit theaters during the summer of 2012.

An emanation of new combination – Surya and Venkat Prabhu

Tamil film industry is known for experimentation and the results would make a deep impact for the whole movie. When Mankatha was ready for screening, there were more talks on the excellent opening sessions which was duly proved. Now the movie has made a broad road to the director of the movie, Venkat Prabhu. It seems that he is now roping on Surya for the next movie after his return from overseas tour with his famiy.

Venkat seems to have outlined the one line story to Surya who is still busy with KV Anand’s Maatran. In the meanwhile Kollywood circles say that the project may come into effect only after Maatran is wound up. His next project will be with director Hari. Surya is personally happy over the runaway success of Mankatha and is quite impressed with the style of the movie. Surya’s 7am Arivu is slated for Deepavali and the reaction to that film will be gauged for the next project with Venkat Prabhu.
